I really enjoyed the hiking holiday in Romania with Raz guiding. It was a challenging but exhilerating experience, meeting local people-shepherds and farmers- going about a way of life that is far removed from our current oil guzzling rat race. I particularly enjoyed seeing how the shepherds worked in a way that has not changed in centuries and with Raz ' help we were able to watch them make cheese and even get some from them.
Again with the local contact we stayed at a mountain rescue hut( Sambata) which was for me a highlight of the trip.
Memories----Scrambling up steep rocky slopes, fierce sheepdogs guarding their huge flocks ,the chat in the refuge at the end of a days good walking, inching our way across late snow fields ,the incredible views from the ridge walks and in particular meeting new people from all over the world. Razvan's recommendation for eating in Bucarest was spot on --I still feel a tiny bit guilty for choosing bear steak--but it was superb. a great experience - but as they say in the brochure --you do need to be fit and be happy with some" interesting paths".

My wife, 2 teenage sons and myself were extremely pleased with the personalized touch provided by Razvan during our Transylvania tour with Active Holidays in July 2008.
Having travelled by car, rail and bike through northern and central Europe previously, we were intrigued by the opportunity to explore a mix of Romanian towns and countryside by cycle.
Overall, automobile traffic was very sparse, and the route was scenic. In fact, the 25km ride down the mountain was the most spectacular view we'd experienced on two wheels. The trip gave us first hand insight
into the true Romanian rural life, including some great home grown culinary delights.
Razvan was extremely accommodating in meeting our needs, and was able to provide some great spur of the moment activities which a formalized tour bus would be incapable of.
Well worth the money for this cycling trip.....and one day horseback riding excursion will remain in our minds forever.

Dear Razvan,
Our journey to Rumania and Transylvania was successful in all parts. From the very start with the car direct from the airport, with your information guidelines, witch was very informative. The beautiful evening in Brasov with cultural surroundings and performing from a stage on the plaza were we stayed in that very nice hotel that everything. On top of that evening, it was a fantastic firework. A terrific coincidence for my brother’s anniversary.
We met so friendly people everywhere in your country. The farm was fantastic, the landscape like a fairytale. All animals and wildlife as big birds that we saw from the horse back. Two young Swedish girls took very god care for our riding tours and for our safety. Gigi and Elena spoiled us with so good food the days we stayed in their guest house. Send them our best regard for their outstanding hospitality. Their house was very cosy. I have taken lots of photos and show them for my friends here in Sweden, and I will give them your address. Again Razwan, thank you for all professional service and you’re personal engagement to understand our special booked trip and designed travel, in your in every way beautiful country.

Thank you for the holiday arrangements in Romania, within the Brasov and
surrounding area, which was delightful. We enjoyed the walking,
scenery, mountains, food and the warm welcome from the locals.
The trips that you organised were interesting, stimulating and with time
for a cup of tea or coffee along the journey.
Wild life and flowers were viewed and then taking time in the squares of
Brasov to enjoy daily life, in the daytime, sampling cakes that were
made fresh that day, and at night where the lights displayed a further
beauty.

"When my wife and I knew we were to spend five days in Romania, we had some concerns about accommodations and food and in general about travel conditions. We found that those concerns were unnecessary as the five days were probably the most pleasant of our three-week trip to Eastern Europe. We ate in a variety of restaurants and found the food to be excellent. The roads throughout the trip were in very good condition, making it possible for us to visit out of the way places without problems. But most of all, the friendliness of the people everywhere we went made for a pleasant experience. Our tour guide was adaptable to changes in plans to accommodate the wishes of members of the group. I highly recommend an adventure in Romania.

"After hearing so many negative things about the roads, the stray dogs and the gypsies, upon my arrival I was in for a BIG surprise. And not only - I found out very soon that I was not the only foreigner enjoying the mountains, as I met many Germans and Britz on my hiking tours. The country folks are very friendly and helpful. The road from the capital, Bucharest, to the most commercial mountain resort Brasov is brand new and you can arrive there in 4h tops. Within 3 years I lived and worked there, the country improved tremendously. Romania currently has the highest GDP growth of all countries in the Balkans and you can feel its going forward lightspeed.
I hope I go back someday.

"We are seniors/world travelers and found Romania to be one of our top places to visit, a very clean country. The Hotels were clean with great food and drinks! Our Guide, Razvan, was wonderful to us, the car was comfortable, with the roads being kept up. We really enjoyed the small villages, eating at farms, castles, and other restaurants; where we were served the best fresh vegetables and local foods, we have ever eatten! "My husband and I had a 6 day most enjoyable private tour of Romania with Razvan Prunea as guide and driver in June 04. He is a most competent, pleasant, knowledgeable and obliging man and we have no hesitation in recommending him. The accommodation in Bucharest was excellent, and in the rural areas was 3 star standard, as were the meals. Hygiene was excellent. We had no need of any medical or emergency service, but certainly in Bucharest and in the major cities it would be of a high quality. The countryside is most beautiful and the people hospitable. Of special note are the wonderful painted Monasteries in Bucovina. The infrastructure in Romania was excellent with fine quality roads covering most areas. We did not use public transport, but did meet with a British couple who had, and they assured us it was no problem and that everywhere they were helped by the local people."
