The Carpathian Mountain Ride over the hills
Ride the Carpathians - this itinerary is specially desing for mountain-bike riders that are looking for a holiday in Carpathians, some cultural visits and some extreme adventure in the saddle the rides are taking us over several mountains, climbing some of the ridges for extraordinary views and to get ready for a nice descent. Some will be more tehnical than the others where the breaks are very important. Evening are to be spent in nice locations or medieval towns, so you can also enjoy the nightlife or to experience the life of the locals.
Daily rides are in average 40km long with uphills and downshills, time to take photos and lunch breaks. Will still give you enough time to get ready for a night out. some of the routes are on dirt / logging roads, some others over the hills, through the forests, or on narrow paths.
Dirring the rides you will reach Bran Castle - well known as Dracula's Castle and the medieval fortress in Rasnov that were built to give shelter to a hole village in case of a siege. One day you will reach a nice pool/lake with spring water where you can swimm to refresh yourself after a nice ride ver the hills and trough nice mountain villages.
Cycling days will be in average 5 - 6 hours long, with plenty of time to take photos and study the different flower, birds, forests, views, etc.
Everyday you will complete your history information while visiting medieval castles, fortresses, churches or only a normal house of a local.
Optional: Watching bears from a hide in the forest.

Detailed itinerary for the Romanian trip (land only)
Day 1: Arrive and transfer to hotel
Individual arrival or group transfer to hotel in Sinaia for the beginning of the trip.
Accommodation: hotel or pension in Sinaia
Day 2: Baiului Mountains
Note: The itinerary for any particular day is subject to minor changes upon weather conditions based on group decision.
Start the day with a visit at the Royal Summer Residence at Peles Palace. Inside visit is optional. The biking trail will take us on Baiului Mountains. On a clear day man can have an extraordinary view towards the Bucegi Mountains observing the Hero's Cross. The bike trail will take us up to the ridge, and than along the ridge on a nice path; Our quick descent will reach the town of Azuga. Optional visit to a wine testing cellar.

Day 3: To Dracula's Castle - Legend vs. Myth
Start the trip from Predeal, the town located at the highest altitude in Romania ~1000meter high. Bike at the foot of Bucegi Mountains on wonderful dirt and logging roads and start the descent to continue the journey towards the well known Bran area to reach the Famous Dracula's Castle for an inside visit.

Day 4: Into the Piatra Craiului National Park
Starting from the town of Zarnesti we will pedal today within the Nation Park. Climb trough Zarnesti Gorge, an area used as a filming set for "Cold Mountain" film and return over the mountain villages of Magura and Pestera, where we can see people working the field, cutting the hay or feeding their animals. Wonderful views towards Bucegi and Piatra Craiului Mountains. Short detour for an option visit to a Bat's Cave. Return to Zarnesti for overnight.

Day 5: Are you ready for a bath?
Leave the town of Zarnesti behind and cycle over several hills of Poiana Marului village. Optional visit to the wolves of the Caprathian Large Carnivore Project and the Bear Sanctuary to observe brown bears. Midday we will reach the Codlea hill with the swimming pool and lakes complex. Take the time to refresh yourself into the nice warm spring water from the pool. Optional visit to the fortified church in Codlea. Reach the town of Brasov for overnight.

Day 6: To the Fortified Town of Râşnov
We use the logging road for the morning climb; after less than one hour ascent we will reach the beautiful mountain resort of Poiana Brasov. Continue the day around the resort and start the descent trough a thick forest until Rasnov 15th century peasant fortress. Visit the fortress and see how the locals were defending against the invaders. Rest of the day is at leisure to explore more the town of Brasov or continue cycling back to Brasov for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Around Brasov town and Postavaru Mountain
In the morning or afternoon you can tour the medieval town of Brasov, visiting the Black Church and the great museum of The First Romanian School. Visit some of the defensive towers like the White and the black Tower or the Weaver's Bastion. Cycle or bus transfer to the beautiful mountain resort of Poiana Brasov. Continue uphill half way up the mountain for a nice views over the Brasov area and start the descent to Brasov over Tampa hill trough nice forests, and narrow paths.

Day 8: Transfer to Bucharest Airport & time to say goodbye
Group or individual transfer to airport or extensions days. For later flights, we can include an optional tour of Bucharest before reaching the airport.
Distance by bus: ~3 hours, with stops on the way
