BUCHAREST

An alternative to Europe's classic city breaks, as well as well complementing our excursions, is, nonetheless, a weekend in Bucharest, Romania's capital city.

Bucharest was mentioned for the first time at the time of the rule of the count Vlad the Impalor, better known as Dracula. Since, Bucharest grew steadily, being now a really cosmopolitan city. Internationally renowned artists like the compositor and interpret George Enescu, and several well-known opera singers have performed in Bucharest. Beside its history and its own charm, Bucharest offers everything what a European capital city can offer - starting with all kind of museums and theaters, where we can arrange tickets (the theaters, the Opera and the Operetta are usually closed from end June to mid-September), to discos and nightclubs. Despite the fact, that under communist rule part of the city has been destroyed, despite the social problems of more recent periods, Bucharest is, as always, the most beautiful and diverse city in the region.

Programme:

1st Day, Thursday: Late afternoon in Bucharest

Arrival on the Bucharest Airport. Transfer to the hotel through the village Otopeni In the evening, a walk through Bucharest helps us discovering its charm and its comfortable pubs. Musical performance is possible (folk music in the summer). Accommodation in a hotel in Bucharest
