Transylvania, Dracula – legend or mystery?
It is the time to find out everything about it. Take a tour of the most important places from Dracula’s life and find out about the truth and the legend.
The highlights of the "Dracula Myth" tour are: all Dracula’s Castles, his birthplace, his resting place (grave), the princely court he build in Bucharest, the Borgo Pass and the places Jonathan Harker passed on his way to Dracula’s Castle.
Detailed itinerary for the trip "Dracula's Myth - Legend vs. Truth" (land only)

Day 1: Arrive and welcoming dinner
Pick up from Bucharest - Otopeni Airport and transfer to Bucharest. At the welcoming dinner, the guide will present a briefing of the whole trip, together with a short introduction of Romania.

Distance by bus: 30 minutes from the airport to city center
Day 2: Reaching Transylvania
Today we are heading north towards Transylvania. On our way we will be visiting the Vlad Dracula fortress at Poienari/Arefu. The fortress is located in the heart of Carpathian Mountains and the only way up is climbing the 1500 steps through the unspoiled forest.

Day 3: Following Jonathan Harker
Morning starts with a city tour of Sibiu, which is designated to be the European Capital of Culture for 2007 , we will continue our journey towards the heart of Transylvania up to the Borgo Pass. After visiting the fortified church in Biertan, our final stop will be the Hotel Castel Dracula or Golden Crown where Jonathan Harker overnight before heading towards Count Dracula’s Castle. Festive dinner at the hotel.

Day 4: Sighisoara - the birthplace
It is the time to visit Sighisoara, the birthplace of Vlad Dracula – The Impaler, as the best preserved medieval town where people are still living in. Take part at a witch trial on the streets of the medieval old town of Sighisoara. Evening arrive in Brasov for overnight.

Distance by bus: 260 - 300 km
Day 5: The castle and his grave
Short walking tour in the center of medieval Brasov. Continue by bus to Bran, well known as Dracula’s Castle. After the visit, free time at the souvenir market outside the castle. Continue south to show our last respect at the grave of the Impaler at Snagov Monastery on the island on Snagov Lake. Boat transfer to the monastery. Evening in Bucharest for dinner at Count Dracula’s Restaurant and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Bucharest Airport & time to say goodbye
Morning tour of the old Bucharest, first time mentioned in written documents on the time of Vlad The Impaler, in 1452. Visit the Princely Court of Vlad Dracula before heading for the airport for your flight back.
Distance by bus: 30 minutes from the hotel in the city to the airport
