We are offering this special tour in the Carpathian mountains, taking you along ridges, into a National Park and for a nice visit to see Dracula’s Castle. Enjoy overnights in the medieval town of Brasov.

Other notes:- the trip is design as an ALL-Mountain trip, somesection are more XC/CrossCountry, some other aremore technical on single track, approaching it to DHtype.- The routes are on dirt / gravel roads, mud tracks,single paths/tracks, over meadows with great views.

 

We will provide a bike trailer to transport the bikesbetween different locations – when necessary

we will transfer the luggage every day, and bikeboxesto the last hotel.

A general Bike-tool-Box will be available for thegroup use during the trip- lunches are usually sandwiches – self made atbreakfast + fruits fresh + dry, water, nuts

You can extend your stay with another night in the town ofBucharest – the Romanian Capital. The extension includes:transfer to your hotel, accommodation, and you are incharge of the party time for the evening. The BucharestExtension can start the evening before – so you can getthere on Friday evening and enjoy to party nights beforeyour return on Sunday. Includes a panoramic city tourupon arriving in Bucharest.

 

Note: daily itinerary is subject to minor changes upon weather conditionsWe will provide altitude charts and graphs for everyday ride – so you will beable to appreciate the daily distance to cover.The daily riding routes are around 35km - 60km/day,alternating great routes, single tracks, gravel roads, grassymeadows, technical parts with a bit of local touch, justenough to fill your day.

1st day: Arrive and transfer to hotel (D) Pick up from Bucharest Otopeni Airport and transfer up northalong Prahova Valley to Busteni. Bike fitting and dinner. Accommodation: Sinaia or Busteni at minihotel or pensionDistance by car: ~1h40min

2nd day: warm-up in Baiului Mountians (B, L-box, D) today we need to strech our legs and get into the Romanianathmosphere. We get to know the level of the group and eachones abbilities. Full day cycling will be in Baiului Mountains withsupperb views on both sides from the ridge route. We will usegondola/chairlift to take us up to the top and enjoy more of thesuperb views towards Bucegi Mountains and to the CarpathianArc. Good descending routes are through the pine forest.Accommodation: Busteni or Sinaia at minihotel or pension

3rd day: the great Bucegi Mountain Ride (B, L-box, D) Note: Today’s ride is available mid June to September / October.due to snow/weather – alternative routes are available if snow covered

CableCar ride to Bucegi Plateau. Ride at more than 2000metersaltitude passing by the Sphinx, the Biddies and admiring theHero’s Cross. A long descente will take us back to Sinaia – wefollow a gravel back road to Busteni. Weather and group levelallowing, the route will go across the Bucegi Mountains Plateau,a detour for a soup at Omu Hut (2505m) worth while for a greatachievement. We are probably half way across the mountainbefore the finish line in Moeciu village.Alternate route is available if the trail is snow covered.Accommodation: Moeciu/Bran, family run guesthouse/minihotel

3rd day: Dracula’s Castle (B, L-box, D)  ALTERATIVE OPTION Full day cycle on the rolling hills around Bran Castle – wellknown as Dracula's Castle. Ride through deep gorges, over thepasture meadows, through pine forest. Most of the ride is in thePiatra Craiului National Park. Splendid views passing bymountain villages, admiring people at work - taking care of theiranimals and turning the grass into hay for the winter. Afternooninside visit at Bran Dracula's Castle. 4th day: medieval town of Brasov (B, L-box, -) starting from the guesthouse, we take a very nice cycling routebefore getting in the old town of Brasov, you are surrounded byvery old houses, narrow streets, and friendly people. Take atour into the old town of Brasov with stops at The BlackChurch, The First Romanian School and The WeaversTower.Optional: you can serve Romanian specialties for dinner at anyrestaurant in Brasov.Accommodation: minihotel / guesthouse in Brasov

5th day: Up to the skiing area (B, L-box, -) Spend the day in Poiana Brasov Bike Park; a climb will take usup to the winter mountain resort – descent to Medieval Peasantfortress in Rasnov, or another single track descent will take usback to Brasov, on a different way as challanging as themorning ride.Accommodation: minihotel / guesthouse in Brasov

6th day: Transilvania Villages to Sighisoara (B, L-box, D) a morning transfer will take us away from the large city deepinto the heart of Transilvania. Here the rides are more XC, overthe rolling hills, reaching remote villages to admire the localsforgoten workshops like the blacksmith and charchoal makers.The rides here will be rewarding for the great landscape andfriendly people that you will meet at the end of the day.Accommodation: homestay in a remote village in Transilvania

7th day: Sighisoara – Dracula's Birthplace (B, L-box, D) the Transyvanian rolling hills are a delightful area to cycle. Wecontinue our ride passing by a few well known fortified churchesin Transilvania, some listed as UNESCO sites. We will pass by Prince Charles so beloved place, and we will finish our day inSighisoara – the best preserved medieval town continously inhabited by people. At the end of the day travel south to Brasov, where we have leftthe bike boxes; time to pack your bike and optiona - enjoy afarewell dinnner in a traditional restaurant.Accommodation: minihotel / pension in Brasov

8th day: Departure (B, -) Bus to Bucharest airport – if time allows we can include a citytour of Bucharest with inside visit at the second largestadministrative building in the world after Pentagon – The Palaceof Parliament. Optional stop on the way for a visit to the Pearleof the Caprathians – The Royal Summer Residence at PelesPalace in Sinaia.Distance by bus: ~3 hours

our intention is to guarantee the trip for minimum 6 participants to be able to offer quality services at reasonable prices.

For larger groups we can confirm different departure dates on request.

 

Once we will have 4 people interested to travel on the same departure, we will guarantee the trip with less participants and hopefully this will attract more clients. We will anyway run the tour even with 4 participants, once it gets guaranteed to run.

Tour will include:
  • all accommodation
  • airport transfers – first and last day from / to airport
  • meals as specified: breakfast at hotel, lunch packself made at breakfast, some dinner
  • luggage transfers between hotels (no suport vehicleis available – all routes will be cycled)
Tour will NOT include:
  • two dinner meals while in medieval town of Brasov
  • entrances at tourist sites
  • drinks, insurance, personal expenditure
  • flights, gratuities, visa cost if necessary
