Hello, my name is Ioan and I would be glad to guide you through our beautiful country!
I grew up in a mountain village in Maramures, where I was able to discover the timeless traditions of mountain life. The shepherds, farmers, hunters and wood carvers of the village where my first teachers while the rich, beautiful natural environment served as class room.
As a result later one I followed with university studies of forest ecology and landscape design and developed my passion for history and geography.
In the same time I pursued my love for mountains, discovering them in all the seasons through alpinism, climbing, trekking, ski mountaineering, mountain biking and trail running.
I was a member of the Transylvania University Sport Club (USC) between 1998 and 2002, climbing and ski-alpinism section (1999 and 2000 – 3rd place at national ski alpinism championship). Since 2000 I am a professional ski instructor, Romanian ski school, (member of International Ski Instructor Association, in Poiana Brasov and from 2015 a mountain guide.
