Hi, my name is Nicu Braguta and I am a professional mountain guide, ski instructor and part-time mountain rescuer. For five years I have been active in mountain rescue teams in Săcele and Brașov. I was born in 1980 and started hiking when I was very young, so my experience in the mountains spans over twenty-five years. I have participated in several expeditions to climb the highest peaks in Europe: Elbrus – 2003 and 2004 (ski touring), Grossglockner – 2005, Pizol & Dent du Midi – 2007 (winter season), Mont Blanc – 2008 (winter season), and others. I was a member of the alpine climbing team of the C.S.U. Brasov Club and a member of the STIX Brasov caving club as well. Over the years, I have climbed many trails and explored many caves throughout Romania. Later, I focused on ski touring and in 2006 I became an international judge and referee in ski touring competitions. Between 2007-2009 I was a UIAA delegate, member of the jury at the World Ski Touring Championships. We have guided tourists in all the main mountains in Romania, including the Făgăraș, Piatra Craiului, Bucegi and Retezat mountains. In the following years I focused on mountain bike tours in the mountains of Southern Transylvania, both as a guide and as a participant in mountain bike races. I was a member of the Romanian Mountain Guides Association until 2008. Currently, I am a member of the Romanian Association of Mountain Rescuers, the Romanian Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing, the Romanian Federation of Speleology and ISMF. I speak fluent English, intermediate German and look forward to sharing mountain adventures with you.
